A seductively rich and strong masala chai with traditional North Indian spices.
Notes of bishop's weed, ginger, cardamom and pepper.
The liquor is exceptionally warm and spicy. A pungent hint of Bishop's Weed starts the cup while warmer notes of mace, clove, and bay leaves emerge towards the middle. Fennel lends sweetness to the cup while pepper enhances the warmth of the liquor. The flavour of Bishop's Weed returns prominently in the aftertaste.
You'll definitely want to brew this blend in milk on the stove. It's a really strong complex chai, with a lot of flavours. The tea used in this blend is not, strictly speaking, loose-leaf tea, it's CTC tea (Cut, Tear, Curl). CTC tea is typically used in tea bags. The process cuts the tea into smaller pieces, which increases it's surface area and results in a quicker, stronger brew. We use a good quality, large cut CTC tea to create a really good, strong chai. We recommend a 5 minute brew to start, but play around with it to find your perfect cup!
